What does it mean to be The Faithful City?

By trauma theology, we are in Holy Saturday. Jesus cleansed and saved us on Friday but we are waiting for His resurrection Sunday, which is His coming back to us someday.

On Holy Saturday, Jesus is still in the tomb, disciples are trembling and struggling, and we are painstakingly persevering, being shaken but not giving up faith and hope.

So we declare, “Shalom” in Jesus’ overcoming death two thousand years ago.

We patiently wait and walk by faith, not by sight.

We courageously rise with Jesus in his promise of being with us (presence) till the end of the world.

We commit ourselves again to following Jesus with our own cross, bearing his image on us (Christlikeness).

We are chosen not to be immune from suffering but embrace it in the Lord’s victory that keeps us growing (post-traumatic growth) to bear God’s fruition and multiplication to the nations.

We are led and woven from everywhere.

We are cleaved to the new beloved children of God.

We are the community of belonging in God’s shalom and agape.

We are The Faithful City!

Isaiah 1:25-26

I will turn my hand against you;

I will smelt away your dross as with lye

and remove all your alloy.

And I will restore your judges as at the first,

and your counselors as at the beginning.

Afterward, you shall be called the city of righteousness,

the faithful city.
